The article reveals the meaning of the conceptions - social space, - cultural space used in the Chinese humanitarian scientific discourse. The author pays special attention to the comparison of the existing viewpoints on the essence of these conceptions. Social space is represented in the contexts of philosophy, sociology, classical for the Chinese science Marxist theory. The researcher identifies the features of social space, examines the problem of the typology of cultural space, characterizes its types.
