The history of medicine shows how society changed its approach to diseases and ailments from ancient times to modern times. Universities began to systematically train doctors from about 1220 AD. in Italy, it was from those times that the first associations of doctors began to emerge. Today, in higher educational institutions, in particular, medical ones, student scientific circles are organized.

The Sudent Scientific Society and their scientific research works are one of the most important means of improving the quality of training of specialists in higher education, which provides areas of scientific, methodical, organizational content, which ensures the training of all students in the skills of scientific research in accordance with the chosen specialty within the educational process. Student scientific circles and problem groups are created precisely to solve the set tasks. These scientific associations are created at the departments of the faculties and are the initial form of mastering the skills of scientific research by future specialists. In its activity, the circle and the circles themselves are guided by the principles of equality of circle members, self-governance, openness and transparency of activity, organic connection of research work with the educational process.

For the successful professional training of highly qualified specialists in the new socio-economic conditions, the personality of the student, the ability to make independent decisions and their further implementation acquire primary importance. Learning becomes person-oriented. The main task of education in Ukraine at the current stage is compliance with the standards of highly developed countries and the achievement of results that will demonstrate competitiveness in a single professional world space. Medical education should provide high-quality training of medical workers, who are obliged not only to master a specialty, but also to possess professional competencies, actively engage in scientific activities, and constantly improve themselves.

Research work (R&D) of students is a component of professional training, which involves teaching students research methodology and methods, as well as systematic participation in research activities, the application of technologies and creative skills to solve certain scientific tasks.

Історія медицини показує, як суспільство змінювало свій підхід до хвороб і недуг починаючи з античних часів і до сучасності. Університети почали систематичну підготовку лікарів приблизно з 1220 року н.е. в Італії , саме з тих часів почали зароджуватисть перші об 'єднання лікарів. Сьогодні у вищих навчальних закладах, зокрема, медичних, організовуються студентські наукові гуртки.

Студентське наукове товариство та їх науково дослідні праці - одні із найважливіших засобів підвищення якості підготовки спеціалістів у вищій школі, який передбачає напрями наукового, методичного, організаційного змісту, що забезпечує навчання всіх студентів навичкам наукових досліджень відповідно до обраної спеціальності в рамках навчального процесу. Саме для вирішення поставлених завдань і створюються студентські наукові гуртки та проблемні групи. Дані наукові об'єднання створюються при кафедрах факультетів і є початковою формою оволодіння майбутніми фахвцями навичками наукового дослідження. У своїй діяльності гурток та самі гуртківці керується принципами рівноправності членів гуртка, самоврядування, відкритості та прозорості діяльності, органічного зв 'язку науково-дослідної роботи з навчальним процесом.

Відповідно до «Національної програми підготовки кадрів» зростають вимоги до якості освіти у вищих навчальних закладах. Для успішної професійної підготовки висококваліфікованих спеціалістів у нових соціально- економічних умовах першочергове значення набуває особистість студента, здатність приймати самостійні рішення та їх подальшу реалізацію. Навчання стає особистісно-орієнтованим. Основним завданням освіти в Україні на сучасному етапі є відповідність стандартам високорозвинутих країн і досягнення результатів, які продемонструють конкурентоспроможність в єдиному професійному світовому просторі. Медична освіта має забезпечувати якісну підготовку медичних працівників, які зобов'язані не лише опановувати спеціальність, а й володіти професійними компетенціями, активно займатися науковою діяльністю та постійно самовдосконалюватися.

Науково-дослідна робота (НДР) студентів є складовою професійної підготовки, яка передбачає навчання студентів методології та методам дослідження, а також систематична участь у науково-дослідницькій діяльності, застосування технологій і творчих навичок для вирішення певних наукових завдань.

Statement and justification of the relevance of the problem

In Ukraine, the research work of students is provided by regulatory and legislative documents: the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific and Technical Activities" (2014) and the Law "On Higher Education" (2021). According to the main provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education", an integral part of educational activity in higher education is scientific activity, which is ensured through the organic unity of the content of education with the program of scientific activity, the creation of educational and methodological material. and scientific literary productions, as well as the participation of scientific and pedagogical workers in scientific research conducted in higher education. One of the main factors in the training of highly qualified personnel, including medical personnel, is the involvement of talented student youth in the research work of scientific schools, the direct participation of student youth in fundamental research, etc. The scientific research work of students is characterized by the unity of goals and directions of educational and scientific work, close interaction of all forms and methods of scientific work of students, which are implemented both in the educational process and in extracurricular time [1, 2]. This ensures their participation in scientific research during the entire period of study at a higher educational institution. A clear organization of students' research work contributes to students' in-depth assimilation of individual academic disciplines, awareness of their individuality, formation of their own judgments and critical-evaluative attitude to certain statements, concepts, ideas, expands their theoretical horizons and scientific erudition, develops initiative, the ability to apply in their practical work.

The purpose of the study: to improve the efficiency of the scientific group of the department of surgical stomatology and maxillofacial surgery and to demonstrate the achievements of previous years of work.

Own experience and its discussion. One of the most common types of scientific research work of students is active participation in the work of student scientific circles and seminar classes of the first year of study. Working in such circles is an important and vivid event of student years, it is a school of life, because first of all it is a school of teaching yourself and other students certain practical skills of what you have learned and are able to do; secondly, it is a school of presentation of one's scientific work and skills; thirdly, it is a school of perception, hardening and a kind of "survival" under the gaze of the audience; fourthly, it is a school of skillful and successful selfpresentation, the so-called school of acting skills to conquer the hall, cause admiration, sigh, smile, respect [3, 4].

The student scientific circle is an association of students engaged in non-commercial research, one of the forms of scientific activity of students, aimed at expanding the scientific potential and forming the skills of research activity in students in their free or specially allocated time. The scientific circle is a voluntary organization of students who have expressed a desire to master the skills of scientific research and successfully combine such activities with studies.

Any student studying at a university can become one of the Gurtkivits. Admission to the group is carried out solely on the basis of the student's own free will, based on the student's verbal consent or application. Visiting student scientific circles helps to improve the quality of scientific training of circle participants, to develop medical thinking, and to promote the formation of self-organization during independent scientific research. Participants have the opportunity to deepen and consolidate the acquired knowledge. Teachers conducting classes in the scientific circle have experience in teaching and scientific work [5].

The International Scientific and Pharmaceutical Congress of Students and Young Scientists, known as BIMCO (Bukovinian International Medical Congress), is held annually on the basis of the Bukovinian State Medical University.

This scientific platform allows you to present your scientific work to every student. The criteria for evaluating scientific reports are: the scientific thoroughness of the work, the quality of the presentation of the material and the design of the work. The assessment of the scientific thoroughness of the work carried out implies an assessment of the report in relation to the extent to which the research topic is relevant and has practical significance, whether it contains elements of scientific novelty and what scope of research the author has conducted independently. Other categories may be considered. The assessment of the quality of the presentation of the material implies the assessment of the report in terms of how freely the speaker uses scientific terms and correctly presents the material. The evaluation of the design of the work implies an evaluation of the report on how competently the work is illustrated by completed tables, slides, diagrams, which will be demonstrated in a logical connection with the presented material.

In particular, in 2018, Maria Kushnir, a member of the scientific group of the department of surgical stomatology and maxillofacial surgery, took part in the report "Injection anesthesia with the Vibraject device in order to reduce pain sensations". In 2019, at the BIMCO congress, Iryna Hryhorchuk, who was a member of the scientific group, presented her research work on the topic "Photodynamic therapy in the treatment of generalized periodontitis." In the same year, the head of this scientific circle Marusei Iryna, with her scientific work, among other works, was selected at the first round of the competition for student scientific works and recommended for participation in the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition for student scientific works in the specialty "Medicine", which took place on 26 - March 27, 2019 at the Kharkiv National Medical University, where she won a prize and was awarded a diploma "For the social significance of research".

An indisputable fact is the importance of scientific circles in the education of student youth, the formation of highly qualified specialists and, of course, in the training of scientific personnel of higher educational institutions and research laboratories and centers.

The main tasks of student scientific circles:

- ensuring active participation of students in holding scientific conferences, competitions for the best scientific work, scientific seminars;

- formation of students' interest in scientific creativity, teaching methods and methods of independent solving of scientific tasks in the fields of biology and medicine, and skills of working in scientific teams;

- assistance to students in mastering the methodology and skills of conducting independent scientific research and developing scientific problems;

- exchange of experience in organizing and conducting scientific work among members of student scientific circles;

- promotion of in-depth study in a broader plan of educational material;

- training from among the most capable, active and timely students of the reserve of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel;

- identification of the most gifted and talented students, use of their creative and intellectual potential to solve urgent tasks of increasing the efficiency of the educational process [7].

An extremely important role in the formation of clinical thinking, practical skills and scientific activity of students is played by the student scientific circle. Since 2007, the Department of Surgical Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery of the BSMU has had a student research group. The composition of the group during the 2020-2021 academic years consisted of 12 to 20 dental students. During the academic year, meetings of the scientific circle of the department are held, the topics of the meetings of the circle are closely intertwined with the scientific directions of the department's lecturers-consultants. The meeting of the circle is held twice a month with reports and multimedia presentations, at which the results of the work for the relevant period are discussed, the coordination of the further work of the Student Scientific Society (SST), students' reports on the results of the SSR are heard. If there are patients, students have the opportunity to assist in operations and attend consultations. Students of the scientific society organize annual student scientific conferences of the university, seminars, thematic "round tables". Student teams regularly participate in university, all-Ukrainian and international conferences. What ensures the expansion of international student relations, the establishment of contacts with higher medical institutions of Ukraine.

1. Student scientific circles play a significant role in attracting talented student youth, which further contributes to the formation of a worthy galaxy of potential scientists.

2. The experience of the department of surgical stomatology and maxillofacial surgery helps the students of Gurtkiv to acquire the skills of independent scientific research work and increase the level of their knowledge.
