Specificity of vocal interpretation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s works

In the composition "Light at The End of the Tunnel” together with the typical features of gospel, you can trace the signs of the author's style of E.L. Webber, which is manifested in the use of a melody with a hook chorus, characteristic modulations that dynamize the form, an original structural solution of the song that begins with the introduction and chorus, a harmonic sequence that incorporates features of the blues and the song, masterful orchestration with dramatic development. The gospel genre plays the role of a semantic center, on which a foundation is created, which has an important semantic load, which helps to reveal the images of the characters.

Andrew LloydWebber 's songwriting skills work is characterized by the fact that he is extremely skillful and free to operate with different musical genres and styles, which gives his music a modern flavor of sound. We will also note the amazing theatrical vision of the composer, which allows him to create unforgettable theatrical productions. Webber's achievement is to create a wide palette for creating a musical text that is understandable to the listening audience and creates opportunities for different performing interpretations. Turning to a well-known genre provides grounds for creating additional horizons of meaning, which are read at different levels. The choice of characteristic features of the gospel genre allows you to initiate the formation of additional meanings. At the same time, the artist does not simply copy this genre, but endows it with his own author's text. The interpretation of Webber's works requires deep insight into the author's intention, which is realized through the analysis of all components - from verbal to musical text.
