THE MODEL OF FORMING READINESS OF FUTURE TOURISMOLOGISTS FOR MANAGERIAL ACTIVITIES

Summary: In the article the author reveals the model of forming readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education. The essential stages of educational techniques forming the readiness of tourismologists for managerial activities have been described. It has been determined that the structural constituents are: components, principles, organizational and pedagogical conditions, criteria and indicators of well- formed readiness of tourismologists for managerial activities. The author distinguishes the most efficient methodological aspects of forming readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education.

Аннотация: В статье раскрыто модель формирования готовности будущих туризмоведов к управленческой деятельности в условиях профессиональной подготовки. Охарактеризованы основные этапы реализации технологии формирования готовности к управленческой деятельности туризмоведов в образовательной среде. Установлено структурные составляющие модели: компоненты, принципы, подходы, организационно-педагогические условия, критерии и показатели сформированности готовности туризмоведов к управленческой деятельности. Определены наиболее эффективные методические основы формирования готовности будущих туризмоведов к управленческой деятельности в условиях профессиональной подготовки.

Introduction. The training of professionals for tourism is an important constituent of the national educational system. The fast tourism development creates the need for competent professionals bound to ensure proper theoretical and practical foundations for future development of the industry. It is almost impossible to use the potential of tourism without appropriate scientific and human resourcing.

Constant changes in the character of tourism professionals' activities require modernizations and transformations in educational environment of their training. That is why the training of tourismologists acquires innovation approach in the process of personnel training for the industry.

The tourism occupational field requires a potential professional who is prepared for various aspects of managerial functions in his/her professional activities. Recent necessity to provide tourism business with management personnel requires directing the professional training of future tourismologists to the formation of their readiness for managerial activities.

In connection with the aforementioned, arises the need to determine the ways of improving system provision of forming readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education.

The analysis of research and publications revealed that the importance and subject matter of investigating the specifics of training personnel for tourism were studied by: Y. Zemlina, I. Zorin, I. Minich, S. Li- tovka, V. Fedorchenko and others. The specificity of forming the readiness for professional activities was studied by: S. Litovka, L. Lyubarets, L. Shcherbak. The theory and practice of modelling managerial activities of professionals were investigated in the work of: V. Svistun, V. Pikelna and others.

It is becoming clear that the creation and application of knowledge in social processes, and ensuring the competitiveness, are of key importance not only for economic well-being of individuals, but also for the market position of companies and welfare of the modern society and the state. University business schools thus play an increasingly important role in a turbulent global environment and are becoming a crucial element of a knowledge society, including the field of tourism education.

Economic, political, socio-economic and other changes are manifested in all areas of global economy and processes in society, and, hence, these changes can be felt especially in the existing school system at all levels of formal education. With the actualization of the objectives of the Bologna Process, higher education in particular, is experiencing major changes.

Are of key importance for strengthening the competitiveness of enterprises and the development of their critical success factors in an increasingly competitive global market and locally, which also applies to the tourism business and tourism education providers that are clearly a part of the global market [3].

Despite the obvious significance of the research, the extent of development of forming the readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities is insufficient. The demand for professionals with well-formed readiness for managerial activities in tourism requires improvements in educational environment of their professional training. The purpose of the article is the description of the model of forming readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education.

Main part. The success in economic growth of a travel company depends on its management. The efficient managerial activity boosts the development of innovations and improves the image of a travel enterprise. In professional training of competitive manager in the field of tourism it should be clearly realized what characterizes his/her professional training, the nature of which is forming the readiness for managerial activities of a graduate.

The development of innovation activities, improvement of travel enterprise efficiency and its economic growth largely depends on its manager. Travel business is a labour extensive and complex activity where professionals organise production and economic processes and bear the burden of responsibility for the success in their management.

The following constituents of the readiness of tourismologists for managerial activities have been determined:

1) integrative readiness - the capability to integrate knowledge, abilities and skills as well as to use them efficiently for management in tourism environment;

2) social and psychological readiness - capability of leadership, setting objectives, ability to realize strategies and plans, as well as being innovative, having knowledge and skills of understanding people's behaviour, motivating their activity, having high level of empathy and culture of communication;

3) organizational readiness for managerial activities in tourism field - decision making, collecting and analysing information, practices in working with people, using innovation tourism technology.

Forming the readiness of future tourism professionals for managerial activities is connected with improvements in educational environment. The academic process is focused upon forming and activation of students' managerial thinking. The professional training of tourismologists for managerial activities requires use of appropriate techniques in forming their readiness for managerial activities.

To efficiently train future tourism professionals for managerial activities it is suggested to use the comprehensive model of forming readiness for managerial activities of future tourismologists in professional education.

Thus, the structure of the model of formation process during professional training of tourismologists in a higher educational establishment (fig.1) consists of consecutive and interrelated elements:

- the purpose of forming readiness for managerial activities of future tourismologists;

- the objective of forming managerial readiness of tourismologists in professional activities;

- the functions of forming readiness for managerial activities of future tourismologists in professional education;

- the methodological principles of forming readiness of future tourism managers for managerial activities;

- the practices of forming readiness for managerial activities of tourismologists in professional education;

- the diagnostics and results of formed readiness of tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education.

The target constituent of the model includes the demand caused by the most recent requirements on the labour market, which is reflected in the need for professionals with established managerial activities in tourism industry, that is why the purpose is forming the readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities during their professional education in a higher educational establishment.

While making the purpose of the model more specific the objective of developing motivation for activities, job-oriented qualities of tourismologists and developing an individual managerial style of future activity has been identified.

The suggested model provides for realization of some basic functions of the educational process of future tourismologists: educational one, motivational one, learning and cognitive ones, as well as it comprises some components (target setting one, emotional-volitional one, creative one, cognitive one, communicative one, organizational and managerial ones). The components are closely interrelated with each other [1].

Some basic principles of forming the readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in the process of professional education have been distinguished, such as (scientificity; consistency; proactiveness and mutual adaption; self-perfection; commitment to self-education, cognitive and incentive), as well as some approaches (systematic, proactive, self-developing and competency-based).

The indicators of forming readiness for managerial activities of future tourismologists in professional education are:

- understanding of tourismologists' managerial role in occupational field;

- sustainable development of general and occupational culture;

- personal professional experience in managing business relations in tourism environment: establishing tolerant interaction, successful communication and conditions for productive and profitable tourism business;

- prevention and resolution of conflicts in tourism business.

These indicators have determined the foundations of this particular study and served as a pretext for identification of organizational and pedagogical conditions of forming readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in educational environment.

The determined organizational and pedagogical conditions of forming the readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities (varieties of training practices and apprenticeships; records of students' personal characteristics and abilities for managerial activities) affected the choice of appropriate forms and methods: lecture, seminar, workshop, individual and laboratory work, individual class, scientific conferences, trainings, brain-rings, trivia, business simulations, integrated and binary classes, excursions etc. [1]; drafting business plan, estimating the dynamics of business development, searching for potential foreign partners, preparing presentations, spreading specific tourism information as well.

The following criteria of formed readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities: encouraging students to work in accommodation industry; cognitive; proactive; organization oriented.

Methodological provision of forming the readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education includes the following means of control and correction (surveys, testing, questioning, self-control, tutorial instructions, and individual tasks).

The realization of the model provides for availability of concrete results in forming the readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education, transition of future professionals to a higher level of managerial readiness from elementary to advanced one. To check the effectiveness of the experimental work model realization the following levels of established readiness of students for managerial activities in educational environment were determined: elementary, sufficient, intermediate and advanced.

The result of the training is readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities.

Forming the readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities is viewed as a process of mastering solid, integral, systematic occupational knowledge, abilities to apply them in new, unconventional situations, development of personal qualities, managerial skills providing high professional performance.

Conclusion. The developed model of readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education is an effective tool in building up future qualified manager in tourism field able to be strongly motivated and to cultivate his/her occupational activity: forecast performance and results of tourism business, strive for self-perfection, realise the importance of successful team work, adequately and independently correct drawbacks in professional activities, choose the most efficient forms of combining resources of a tourism enterprise.

Thus, the studied model presents a complex system of interrelated elements. The phases of the study are directed at pursuing the objective of forming readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education by personality-oriented and competency-based training. The developed model is being continuously improved and open.

Of the model of forming readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education is a complex system of interconnected structural elements that, while creating organizational and pedagogical conditions, ensure the achievement of the main goal, namely: the formation of readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in hospitality industry.

Of the model of forming readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education can be used for correction in contents of curriculum on different subjects it directs pedagogical technologies to the creating conditions for the formation of professional competence.

In future it is considered necessary to analyze criteria and levels of the research of students' readiness on the qualification level of 242 “Tourism” in order to distinguish methodological provision of correctional stage of forming the readiness of future tourismologists for managerial activities in professional education.
