THE ROLE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION

Abstract
The article highlights the role of digital technologies in the education process of students in higher education, because in the modernization of education, introduction of new state educational standards, updating the content of education, a social order is formed for professional training of modern people capable of innovation, conditions of digitalization.
Digital technologies have taken center stage over the last decade. Every process in people's lives has something to do with technologies, so every university has to adjust their programs to those changes. In this concept, the main task that universities will have to deal with - finding the right spin for providing technologies into programs. Many professionals are claiming that digital technologies play a huge role in the education process, so universities are actively changing their programs to meet the new standards.
The essence of the concept of "digital technology" is revealed. The essential characteristics of digital technologies are described. It was found that digital technologies contribute to the creation of an innovative digital environment in higher education institutions; intensify communicative connections of all participants of the educational process, creating conditions for self-realization, cooperation, reflection; enrich traditional teaching methods with innovative forms; provide interactive and informational interaction in the learning process. The effectiveness of the use of digital technologies in the educational process of higher education institutions is revealed according to the survey. It is concluded that the educational process with the use of digital technologies is becoming more flexible, personalized, accessible. Especially in the conditions of distance learning due to the spread of coronavirus infection), the need for teacher interaction with students increases both in the traditional format and with the use of digital technologies.

РОЛЬ ЦИФРОВИХ ТЕХНОЛОГІЙ В ОСВІТІ
У статті освітлено роль цифрових технологій в освітньому процесі студентів вищої школи, тому що через діджиталізації освіти, встановлення нових стандартів освіти, також оновлюється зміст освіти - країна має потребу в людях, які будуть підготовані до сучасних технологій, інновацій та умов цифровізації.
Цифрові технології зайняли центральне місце у останнє десятиліття. Кожен процес у житті людей якось пов'язаний із технологіями, тому кожен університет має адаптувати свої програми до цих змін. У цій концепції головне завдання, яке має вирішуватися університетам, -- знайти правильний підхід для впровадження технологій у програми. Багато фахівців стверджують, що цифрові технології відіграють величезну роль в освітньому процесі, тому університети активно змінюють свої програми, щоб відповідати новим стандартам.
Розкрито значення терміну “цифрові технології” та визначено характеристики. Було зазначено, що за допомоги цифрових технологій створюється діджиталізоване середовище у вищих навчальних закладах. Ці технології розкривають комунікативні зв'язки у студентів у процесі здобування освіти, дозволяють здобувачам освіти реалізуватися, бути готовими до співпраці. Більш того, цифрові технології стали інструментом, який використовується для підвищення якості освітнього процесу.
Після дослідження різних джерел було виявлено наскільки ефективно впливають цифрові технології в університетських програмах. Було зроблено висновок, що за допомогою таких технологій - студент мають можливість оперувати часом та персоналізувати здобування освіти. Такі можливості стали дуже важливими в останній час через події освіти, такі як коронавірус.

Problem statement
Education process has always been a vital part of every person's life, since this process harbors not only an understanding of science, but also the understanding of how the world works. Therefore, nowadays the world is becoming digital and education process has to adjust to those changes. New technologies are giving people an opportunity to explore information in a more convenient way.
To begin with, in the nearest future universities are expecting a lot of changing due to digitalization. This new process will bring a lot of possibilities and problems. As for new possibilities, there is going to be an addressing problem of access to education; broadening the choice of ways to get education; enhancing the diversity of knowledge transfer tools.
As simple as it may seem, providing digital technologies into the education process is not only about buying high quality computers or virtual blackboards for auditoriums. The digitalization of schools should always include the creation of new, more effective learning and teaching processes in the field of information technology, which make possible new processes, rather than simply replacing pens or boards with an electronic version. Technology should always benefit pedagogy.
Analysis of recent studies and publications
Arguments in favor of providing new-flanged technologies are based on efficiency it can implement into processes and cut budgets in short terms. There is a powerful explanation of how digital technologies are able to improve business processes and corporate learning [1]. Furthermore, computer-based technologies are a positive thing as shown by the conducted psychological, pedagogical and didactic research [2].
The purpose of article - including digital technologies into every university's program is positive, but a good outcome can only be achieved by making it the right way. In this article will be discussed the benefits of digital technologies and the right ways of digitalizing study process.
Presentation of the main material
Digital technologies play a huge role in a student's journey at university, which is why the use of them can become a top priority for many schools. It should be noted that there is no uniform approach to the definition of «digital technologies», so we interpret it as processing and transmission of information by means of coding characters used in computer technologies. Scientists are actively researching the essence of the concept of «digital technologies».
Firstly, the use of new-flanged technologies may involve in the study process even those students, who were not interested in participating. At this age it is hard to draw the student's attention to the boring, at first sight, information. For instance, participating in a group project on computers that are connected to each other and each of the students are able to see everyone's progress. Furthermore, as an example, at Pennsylvania State University, Geoscience students now use PalmOne PDA to input field data directly into a spreadsheet for analysis rather than paper [3] or at Kyiv Polytechnic Institute students are able to use MathCad to solve math problems.
A person's ability to adapt to a changing work environment is becoming increasingly dependent on the development of curiosity, flexibility of thinking, and the desire to learn quickly. Therefore, the education system should focus on developing skills. This means moving away from traditional models of learning, and moving to a more attractive format of learning that focuses on the development of correct thinking [4]. Their advantage is that they encourage them to think about solving the problem and exchange views with peers with extensive experience. The value of modern education is primarily to teach participants in the educational process (those who teach and those who learn) in teams, increase interest in acquiring knowledge, and increase the ability to solve problems.
Secondly, universities should provide more specializations in IT areas, since no courses can replace full-time education at the university [5]. Nowadays, the number of students, who see themselves as engineers in the future, is increasing. But there are not enough programs in comparison to the huge numbers of diversity in the kinds of IT directions. These programs will become more and more popular, since the world is becoming digitalized.
The intensive use of the Internet and the rise of smart mobile devices have allowed students to study wherever and whenever they want [6]. Learners are able to search at Internet for information or books related to their area of study instead of going to the library. Many universities have created their own digital catalog with some of the books from the real library. This approach gives to students an opportunity to use more time to study.
Moreover, due to recent events that have happened around the world universities are adjusting to being able to give online lessons using digital technologies. Students should be able to attend lessons without actually going to university [7]. This can be accomplished only by using special programs like Zoom or Google Meet. On the other hand, online education seizes the opportunity to communicate with students or teachers, so most psychologists recommend attending universities in real life. Communicating with others can give learners a better understanding of material.
As for teachers, one can believe that the modern university teacher is a migrant in the digital world. However, this does not negate the fact that students need teachers. A university student may not know how to travel to who he wants to be. He needs pedagogical guidance [7]. The teacher directs the study, but only a good teacher leaves the student with the opportunity to find their own way. Both society and the teacher himself bear the burden of responsibility for the movement of the student to a certain and productive end. Education does something completely different from what we can do for ourselves [8].
Conclusions
New developments in the field of e-learning and increasingly advanced digital learning technologies have had a significant impact on the entire education system, from schools to universities. digital technologies contribute to the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary for life and work in modern society. Allow students to adapt to information flows, increase the computer literacy of the population, and contribute to the acquisition of 21st century skills.
