Davydenko VA.., Li Guoliang. Background and factors of formation of foreign language education in China
Article provides a consistent analysis of the history of foreign language education in China. Based on the historical review, the prerequisites and factors of the formation of foreign language education in China are determined and the current state and prospects of teaching Russian in higher educational institutions of China are described. The formation and development of foreign language education in China has a long and diverse history, due in general to the quality of international contacts.
The purpose of the article is to highlight the prerequisites and factors of the formation of foreign language education in China. The authors attribute to the prerequisites the convenient geographical location of China in East Asia, on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean for establishing international relations through land and sea channels; a huge territory, rich resources and developed production, since before the XVI century China was one of the leaders in politics, economy, culture and had attractiveness for other countries in terms of the development of trade, culture and education; as well as the characteristic quality of the Chinese people - good nature and hospitality. China's domestic and foreign policy has a huge impact on the quality of foreign language education.
The authors identify the factors of the formation of foreign language education: the political direction in the internal environment of the state; the activation of foreign policy and the trade and economic factor, which has become an accelerator for learning foreign languages. The national characteristics of the Chinese people and the state's domestic and foreign policy have a significant impact on foreign education. The study of languages and cultures of other peoples entails the development of trade and the establishment of sociocultural ties, and also affects the dominant position of a particular language in which international communication conducted.
