The role of a foreign language for students and cadets

Currently, a graduate of a higher education institution (hereinafter referred to as a higher education institution) must, without a doubt, be a multifaceted educated person with fundamental training in his specialty. At the same time, knowledge of foreign languages is a necessary condition for his competence, which allows him to work with a huge amount of information, as well as to communicate with colleagues from foreign countries. For a competitive modern specialist, both high qualification in his professional activity and readiness to solve professional tasks under the conditions of foreign language communication are important.

Communication in a foreign language becomes an essential component for the professional training of specialists of any profile, since the main task of higher education students is not only to master the skills of communication in a foreign language, but also to acquire special knowledge of terminology in their specialty [1, c.98].

A modern young specialist needs the following professional and personal qualities for successful professional activity:

- the ability to carry out project activities, to professionally approach the solution of technical tasks and problems;

- keep technical documentation;

- use modern information technologies when developing new models of equipment;

- to know at least one of the foreign languages at the level of social and professional communication and to use special vocabulary and professional language terminology, etc.

It should be noted that the low level of foreign language literacy of specialists not only undermines the competitiveness of our country, but also hinders the domestic economy.

This is especially evident when organizing joint ventures, where partners must know each other well, without which there is no trust. The biggest barrier to recognizing each other is language [1, c.102]. In society, foreign language communication becomes a significant component of the future professional activity of a university graduate, and based on this, the role of the "foreign language" discipline in non-specialized higher education institutions is significantly increasing. A professionally oriented approach is a priority in solving the problem of increasing the importance of the subject of learning a foreign language. A professionally-oriented approach to foreign language learning involves the formation of foreign language communication skills in specific professional, business, and scientific fields and situations in students of higher education, taking into account the peculiarities of professional thinking, while organizing motivational and motivational and orientational research activities. The training of specialists at non-language faculties of higher education institutions consists in the formation of such communicative skills that would allow professional contacts in a foreign language in various fields and situations.

The meaning of professionally-oriented foreign language learning lies in its relationship with special disciplines for the acquisition of additional professional knowledge and, as a result, the formation of students of higher education in the ability to communicate in a foreign language in specific professional, business, scientific spheres and situations, taking into account the peculiarities of professional activity. student foreign language professional educational

For students of higher education in non-linguistic specialties, the subject "foreign language" is not profiling, therefore, in order to make the learning process the most effective and targeted, the teacher must clearly imagine the role of a foreign language in the life and activities of a future professional. It is necessary to create an atmosphere of professional activity in educational conditions. And here, educational information is a means of optimizing professional activity.

One of the main problems faced by a foreign language teacher in a non- specialized higher education institution is the lack of the appropriate level of motivation in most students, since, unfortunately, foreign language is perceived by students of non-language educational institutions as a secondary subject and the load on other subjects is very high. Therefore, the creation of conditions for the formation of motivation and increasing interest in learning a foreign language is of primary importance. In conclusion, it is worth saying that the world has long ceased to be closed to communication. The volunteer movement is gaining strength and becoming very popular among students, which helps to form and improve foreign language communicative competence, expand and systematize knowledge about the language, expand linguistic horizons and vocabulary, and master a common language culture.

В даний час випускник вищого навчального закладу (далі - ВУЗ) повинен, без сумніву, бути різнобічно освіченою людиною, що має фундаментальну підготовку за своєю спеціальністю. У той же час знання іноземних мов є необхідною умовою його компетентності, що дозволяє йому працювати з величезним обсягом інформації, а також спілкуватися з колегами із зарубіжних країн.

Для конкурентоспроможного сучасного фахівця важлива як висока кваліфікація в його професійній діяльності, так і готовність вирішувати професійні завдання в умовах іншомовного спілкування. Спілкування іноземною мовою стає найважливішою складовою професійної підготовки фахівців будь-якого профілю, оскільки основним завданням студентів вищих навчальних закладів є не тільки оволодіння навичками спілкування іноземною мовою, а й набуття спеціальних знань термінології за своєю спеціальністю [1, c.98].

Сучасному молодому фахівцеві для успішної професійної діяльності необхідні наступні професійні та особистісні якості:

- вміння здійснювати проектну діяльність, професійно підходити до вирішення технічних завдань і проблем;

- вести технічну документацію;

- використовувати сучасні інформаційні технології при розробці нових зразків обладнання;

- володіти хоча б однією з іноземних мов на рівні соціального і професійного спілкування і використовувати спеціальну лексику і професійну мовну термінологію і т. д.

Слід зазначити, що низький рівень іншомовної грамотності фахівців не тільки підриває конкурентоспроможність нашої країни, а й гальмує вітчизняну економіку. Особливо це проявляється при організації спільних підприємств, де партнери повинні добре знати один одного, без чого немає довіри. Найбільшою перешкодою для впізнавання один одного є мова [1, c.102]. У суспільстві іншомовне спілкування стає значущою складовою майбутньої професійної діяльності випускника вузу, і, виходячи з цього, роль дисципліни "Іноземна мова" в неспеціалізованих вищих навчальних закладах значно зростає. Професійно орієнтований підхід є пріоритетним у вирішенні проблеми підвищення значущості предмета вивчення іноземної мови.

Професійно-орієнтований підхід до вивчення іноземної мови передбачає формування у студентів вищих навчальних закладів навичок іншомовного спілкування в конкретних професійних, ділових і наукових областях і ситуаціях з урахуванням особливостей професійного мислення при організації мотиваційної та спонукально-орієнтовної дослідницької діяльності. Підготовка фахівців на немовних факультетах вищих навчальних закладів полягає у формуванні таких комунікативних навичок, які дозволили б здійснювати професійні контакти іноземною мовою в різних областях і ситуаціях.

Сенс професійно-орієнтованого вивчення іноземної мови полягає в його взаємозв'язку зі спеціальними дисциплінами для набуття додаткових професійних знань і, як наслідок, формування у студентів вищих навчальних закладів вміння спілкуватися іноземною мовою в конкретних професійних, ділових, наукових сферах і ситуаціях з урахуванням особливості професійної діяльності [3, c.206].

Для студентів вищих навчальних закладів немовних спеціальностей предмет "іноземна мова" не є профілюючим, тому, щоб зробити процес навчання максимально ефективним і цілеспрямованим, викладач повинен чітко уявляти собі роль іноземної мови в житті і діяльності майбутнього професіонала. В освітніх умовах необхідно створювати атмосферу професійної діяльності. І тут освітня інформація є засобом оптимізації професійної діяльності.

Одна з головних проблем, з якими стикається вчителі іноземної мови в неспеціалізованих вузах є відсутність належного рівня мотивації більшості школярів, так як, на жаль, іноземна мова сприймається студентами немовних навчальних закладів в якості додаткового предмета і навантаження з інших предметів дуже висока. Тому створення умов для формування мотивації та підвищення інтересу до вивчення іноземної мови має першорядне значення.

На закінчення варто сказати, що світ вже давно перестав бути закритим для спілкування. Волонтерський рух набирає силу і стає дуже популярним серед студентів, що допомагає сформувати і вдосконалити іншомовну комунікативну компетенцію, розширити і систематизувати знання про мову, розширити лінгвістичний кругозір і словниковий запас, а також оволодіти загальною мовною культурою.
