Abstract

The purpose of the study is to spread awareness and knowledge about the uses of artificial intelligence technology in Sports and Physical Education. To achieve this purpose literature review of scholarly articles, and listening to experts talk at various conferences and social media platforms have been used. This paper explains the use and impact of artificial intelligence in sports coaching and sports officiating. An AI coach is a software program that uses artificial intelligence to assist individuals or teams in achieving their personal or professional goals. AI coaches can provide a variety of services, including motivational messages, task reminders, and progress tracking. This paper tries to make aware AI Coach Revolutionizes Coaching. Artificial intelligence officiating is an emerging field that seeks to improve the accuracy and efficiency of officiating in various sports and games. AI can now be used to automate various aspects of officiating, such as ball tracking, decision-making, and rule enforcement. This has the potential to eliminate human error, increase fairness, and provide real-time analysis of the game. The future of AI officiating is promising, with the potential to transform the way we play and watch sports and games. Thus Artificial intelligence is expected to transform the entire sporting industry and its role is growing rapidly. This paper helps in understanding the role and application of artificial intelligence in sports and physical education. Artificial intelligence is being employed extensively in sports. Artificial intelligence will be a scientific tool and thus will be useful for physical education professionals and sports community members.

Introduction

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionized various industries, and the world of sports is no exception. AI is being used in sports to enhance player performance, analyze games, and provide insights that were previously impossible to obtain. With the help of AI, coaches, players, and sports analysts can gain deeper insights into player performance, improve training methods, and optimize game strategies. The impact and use of AI in sports are numerous, from real-time data analysis of player performance to predicting future outcomes of games. AI can be used to monitor the health of players, identify potential injuries, and suggest rehabilitation methods. It can also analyze player movements to identify strengths and weaknesses, as well as to develop more effective game strategies. Additionally, AI can be used to enhance fan experiences by providing personalized recommendations and insights. The integration of AI in sports has been facilitated by the availability of vast amounts of data generated from sensors, cameras, and wearables. The data can be analyzed in real -time using machine learning algorithms to generate insights that can be used to improve sports performance. AI has the potential to revolutionize the way sports are played and analyzed, providing new insights and strategies that were previously impossible to obtain. In this context, it is clear that AI has a significant role to play in the future of sports, and its impact is expected to continue to grow. As technology advances and more data becomes available, we can expect AI to be increasingly integrated into sports to improve player performance, enhance fan experiences, and push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of sports.

Methodology

The purpose of the study is to spread awareness and knowledge about the impact and uses of artificial intelligence technology in Sports and Physical Education. To achieve this purpose literature review of various scholarly articles from the web of science, google scholar, and listening to experts talk at various conferences and social media platforms have been used. The focus throughout the review process is on identifying the key theme of the use and impact of artificial intelligence in sports and physical education.

Use of ai in sports coaching.

AI coach. An AI coach is an artificial intelligence system designed to provide coaching and guidance to individuals and teams. It can provide personalized training, feedback and support to help individuals or sports team to achieve their goals, improve their skills and enhance their performance.

Home Court is a mobile app that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help basketball players improve their skills. The app uses the camera on a mobile device to track the player's movements and provides real-time feedback and analysis of their performance. Here are some of the ways in which Home Court uses AI to help basketball players improve their skills: Shot tracking, Movement analysis, and Performance metrics: The app can track metrics such as shot speed, release time, and dribbling speed, providing athletes with data-driven insights into their performance.

Zenia, a startup uses AI to help people find accurate ways to perform the asana. Zenia claims to be the world's first virtual yoga assistant that uses machine learning and movement recognition technology to guide people in their exercises. In addition to making yoga more accessible, it is a digital yoga coach that helps improve poses. artificial intelligence sport training

AI umpires.

Artificial intelligence can be used in umpiring to improve the accuracy and speed of decisions made during sports events. AI can analyze vast amounts of data, including video footage and real-time game statistics, to provide a more objective and precise decision.

Moreover, one great AI tool in soccer will be Semi-Automated Offside Technology (SAOT), which is proposing an augmentation of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) with bespoke cameras installed under the roof of the stadium. The cameras offer real-time tracking for all 22 players on the pitch, recording data points to calculate their exact position on the pitch. The 29 data points are on all limbs and extremities that are important for an offside decision (including the knees, upper arm, toes, head, and upper arm). It seeks to correctly estimate the exact position of each player on the field of play while the official World Cup match ball, the Adidas «AlRihla» will be fitted with a sensor that shares data 500 times per second, allowing more accurate detection of a hand foul or the kick point than the use of conventional camera frames (limited to 50 frames a second). AI is then used to process this large amount of information to trigger an alert to the VAR when an offside or foul has been detected. The VAR must then validate the infringement to inform the referee who confirms the decision.

Artistic gymnastics comprises several disciplines, each involving a specific apparatus. Men's artistic gymnastics features six distinct disciplines, and women's competitions have four. The same set of judges evaluates all gymnasts in a given competition, judging panels for artistic gymnastics sometimes are active for stretches of 10-12 h on several consecutive days. They follow an elaborate scoring system known as a code of points. Humans sports-performance judging is influenced by the individual judge's prior knowledge and values, which are, in turn, based on experience, training, and iterative reflection. Therefore, this judging is liable to suffer from human error and to manifest various types of biases. Human processing of information is inherently slow, and this bottleneck prolongs gymnastics competitions. To overcome this AI-Powered Judging for Artistic Gymnastics was unveiled in November 2018 by the FIG and Fujitsu. The judging- support system is intended for real-time judging support that is fair and accurate. This JSS captures gymnasts ' movements, then analyzes them and provides a score. The FIG president clarified that the primary aim behind the planned introduction and use of the AI-based judging system was to obtain an accurate assessment of gymnasts' performance, without any biases or errors.

Artificial Intelligence has revolutionized various industries and the world of sports is no exception to it. Artificial intelligence has the potential to revolutionize the way sports are played and judged, providing new insights and strategies that were previously impossible to obtain. In this paper, it is clear that artificial intelligence has a significant role to play in the future of sports and its impact is expected to continue to grow. As technology advances and more data becomes available, we can expect AI to be increasingly integrated into sports to improve player performance and judge and push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of sports.
