Shchurko U.V. Religious Factors in the System of Maintaining Economic Security of the State. - Manuscript.

Dissertation is devoted to the scientific ground of involving positive experience of religious factors in the processes of economic development of the state. There was conducted systematic structural analysis of the religious factors' role in development and decline of civilizations, their role in forming valued-ethics foundations of conducting economic activity. The reasons of successful implementation of socio-economic reforms during the period of economy, politics and society transformations in the countries of the Сentral-Еastern Europe after the collapse of bipolar world system were analyzed. On bases of the led analyses the role of religious factors in those socio-economic transformations their prior role in the success of the lay-outs was shown. As Ukraine was also a part of the Soviet system and had common characteristics of the development with the analyzed countries, which allowed adapting the studied experience to the terms of modern Ukraine. There was shown that the ways of using religiosity to overcome the problems in those European countries could be efficiently used for our country for the economic development and economic security of the state The categorical apparatus of the term “economic security of the state” is extended, complementing him with interpretations of “religious security”, “risks and threats to the economic security” from the side of religious factors, that enabled to improve the system of measures for providing economic security. Grounded expedience of the use of positive experience of activity of Churches in countries of Central-Eastern Europe for involving religious factor to the processes of solving socio-economic problems was offered to be implemented in Ukraine, with regard to the up-to-date conditions. Different approaches of catholic and protestant Churches to economic activity, social work, international trade and investment were analyzed. Attitude of Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox Churches towards economic, social and cultural spheres was studied (on the bases of their social doctrine - official documents, encyclical letters, resolutions of the Church councils on the social issues), which enabled to foreseen the possible behaviour of religious organizations of the said denominations that are presented in Ukraine. As a result of multivariable analysis religious factors were selected as the main and one of the most substantial, which influence on stable and successful development of country. That confirmed the necessity of their involving into forming the strategy of social-economic development of our state. On the basis of the found out threats to the economic security there are offered measures on eliminating dangers from the side of religious factors. The ways of opposing the threats at different levels (social, economic, international, informational, and legislative) were worked out. The recommendations are developed in relation to co-operation of the state and Church in the processes of consolidation of Ukrainian society and stabilizing socio-economic development. The mechanism of Church-state cooperation in different spheres was offered to be accepted at local (regional) and state levels with the regard to the appropriate instruments of strengthening economic security of the state.
