Changing fertility patterns in two north Caucasian republics: is it only social policy that matters?
We study the birth rates in some republics of the North Caucasus: (Dagestan and Karachay-Cherkessia), where, as in some other post-Soviet regions, there is a serious increase in religiosity. Simultaneous weakening of the traditional family unit.
